Irving Art Association Celebrates Earth Day 2024

Paintings and Assemblages

Curated by Junanne Peck and Ariel Esquivel

Paintings and Assemblages on pre-existing Surfaces will be an exhibit that celebrates the transcendent, innovative and experimental works of Art.

The goal of this exhibit is to use art to inspire artist to recycle more and conserve natural resources.

Recycled art and design encourage creativity in others— it's alchemical, magical, subversive, and transformative by nature. Through the use of these discarded materials, we attempt to not only recycle but also make a comment on our rampant "throw-away" society.

Artist will be exhibiting paintings, assemblages, mosaics, found objects, cardboard and anything else our society has deemed no longer useful.

We turn trash into art while keeping it out of our landfill. Throughout our exhibit, the community will find ways we can help keep our Earth a cleaner place to live and about sustainability.

The content must be of a nature that a public entity can display for the enjoyment of a diverse, family-type audience.

IT'S COMING SOONER THAN YOU THINK!

DON'T MISS IT!

Our annual Art & Craft Gift Market will be at the gallery on Sunday, 11 November 2023, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. All local artists with 100% original hand-crafted drawings, paintings, textiles, jewelry, and more for sale just in time for your holiday gift needs... or perhaps your own self indulgence. This year we will also have a table of free items on a first come, first served basis.

The Irving Art Association members are a highly talented bunch, and express their artistic vision through just about every media. We have painters, photographers, sculptors, illustrators, mixed media artists, and of course many of our members express themselves through multiple types of media. From handmade greeting cards to hanging tapestry, quilt, oil painting, acrylic and watercolor painting, clay sculpture, paper art, repurposed and found object mixed media, and just about anything you can imagine, all 100% handmade, original and unique art. Over two-dozen artists offering art to meet any budget.

Remnant and orphaned art will be available, some for adoption to a good home, and some for sale with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Irving Art Association Scholarship Fund. Not everyone has the ability to accept credit card payments, so cash payment is best.

A splendid time is guaranteed for all!
