Painting from Photographs using water media (watercolor/acrylics) $50 per participant (bring your own materials) $60 per participant fee for supplies Cash Only Contact to RSVP Murthy at mlmantha@gmail.com Tentative Date: 3/22/2025 Saturday Duration: 3 hours 1 to 4 pm Place: Irving Art Association Main Gallery, 1975 Puritan Drive, Irving, TX The participants will take home a small completed watercolor or acrylic painting based on their own photograph(s). The workshop includes step by step instructions to simplify and synthesize the photo reference, derive a strong composition and make a colorful painting. The objective is not to duplicate/replicate the reference picture but to interpret the image, capture the essence and represent in your personal way. Bring multiple photographs for a better outcome. Adults of all ages and experience levels are welcome. Subject matter: landscapes, still lifes. Objectionable materials such as pictures of unclothed persons are not allowed. The workshop complies with all the IAA policies that are in effect. Minimum number of participants: 3 Maximum number of participants: 12 About the workshop coordinator: Murthy Mantha is a plein-air artist in watercolors. He serves as a member of IAA, VAL and many local art organizations. He is an award winning artist and his paintings can be seen in the DFW area in many local exhibitions.
